Doctors were so ignorant and uneducated back in the 1960s. They thought Mom was just neurotic when she told them that I was having these “staring spells” before the age of two. I wouldn’t be officially diagnosed with epilepsy until two years later. I was warned countless times as a teenager to do everything I had to do to avoid getting pregnant or my baby would look like a freak show at the circus. I moved down to Pennsylvania in 1991, where I met Glen....
