This book and map was extremely helpful in keeping me oriented along the trail. It helped me anticipate how far the shelters were and of possible water areas. On the other side of the coin, some of the descriptions could have been better, lot|About the Author|A lawyer and longtime author for, and official of, the New York-New Jersey Trail Conference, Daniel Chazin also has edited the "Appalachian Trail Data Book" since 1983.
